Chase James received his B.Sc and M.Sc in Biology at the University of California, San Diego where he worked with the Nieh Lab, studying the complex behavior of social bees. Now as a PhD student in the Sugihara Lab at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Chase is focused on exploring broader, system-wide ecological questions. In particular, he is interested in applying Empirical Dynamic Modeling to trophic dynamics, food web theory, and community ecology.
